The last 2 years have been especially challenging for the producers of polyethylene packaging in Bulgaria in view of the fragmentation of the world economy during the pandemic and the lack of a Bulgarian refinery to produce LDPE raw materials.
The acute shortage of LDPE materials in Europe in early 2021. led to a double price increase, as well as a delay in deliveries. Some packaging manufacturers have even stopped accepting orders.
